When Art Turns Into Connection
A few months ago, I got a message from a woman who had discovered my booth at the Painted Tree boutiques. She told me how often she and her mother stop by, and how her mom absolutely loved my artwork. With her mother’s birthday coming up, she wanted to surprise her with something deeply meaningful—a portrait of her late father.
I poured my heart into the painting, capturing as many tender details as I could. When she arrived to pick it up with her two boys, we instantly connected—it felt less like a business exchange and more like old friends catching up. Later, after the piece was framed, she
brought it back to show me, and I casually mentioned I’d love to meet her mom someday over coffee or lunch. She lit up at the idea and promised to arrange it.
Months passed, and then came the invitation: dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant in town. Last weekend, it finally happened. I met her mother, Cheryl, and she was every bit as warm as I imagined. We talked and laughed, and I left feeling so grateful—not just for the
chance to create something special, but for the friendships and memories that bloomed from it. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do.
