Route 66: A Hundred Years Of Journey

Bison crossing Route 66 road through mountains

Happy New Year and welcome to 2026!
There’s something extra special about stepping into a new year when it also marks a meaningful milestone. To begin 2026, I’m excited to share a brand-new vintage-inspired watercolor created in celebration of Route 66’s 100th anniversary.

Often called the Mother Road, Historic Route 66 stretches from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California – nearly 2,448 miles across eight states – and has long symbolized freedom, adventure, and the classic American road trip. Some of the most drivable and iconic stretches live right here in my home state of Oklahoma, which made this piece especially close to my heart. I wanted to honor that history and share it with my tribe as we start a fresh year together.

Take a moment to explore this new piece and celebrate the open road with me, I hope it brings a little history, heart, and wanderlust into your New Year.

I’m so excited to share a little sneak peek of a new design that’s coming together behind the scenes. This piece is inspired by the timeless, vintage spirit of Route 66, and I’ve been having so much fun playing with bold lettering, classic colors, and that nostalgic Americana vibe. The phrase “Getting Our Kicks Since 1926!” felt like the perfect nod to the Mother Road as it celebrates 100 years, and this design is just one small glimpse of what’s ahead. I can’t wait to bring this full vision to life and share the finished piece with you soon – it’s shaping up to be a joyful tribute to the open road and the stories it holds. 🚗🛣️✨
