Her Second Most Prized Possession
Hello friends, I’m so excited to share my latest commissioned watercolor portrait — and the story behind it. Meet Pawblo.
From our very first conversation, his mom had a vision. She wanted something warm. Timeless. Elevated. A portrait that felt as special as the love she has for him. Together, we refined that vision, choosing a soft suede-inspired background to create depth and richness, and finishing the piece with a hand-applied gold leaf accent frame that adds just the right touch of classic elegance. The warmth of the neutral tones against Pawblo’s soulful eyes makes this painting feel both luxurious and deeply personal.
When she saw the finished piece, she told me it is now her “second most prized possession” – with Pawblo himself being her first. 🐾 That moment right there? That’s why I do what I do! What made this commission even more meaningful was getting to know his amazing and enthusiastic mama along the way. The love she radiates for her boy is beautiful, and translating that into watercolor was such a joy.
Pet portraits aren’t just paintings. They are legacy pieces. They capture companionship, loyalty, personality, and presence, in a way that lives on your walls and in your heart. If you’ve been thinking about honoring your own beloved pet with a custom watercolor, I would be honored to guide you through creating something uniquely yours. Thank you for trusting me with your stories. With gratitude, Maya
